Becoming Family Caregivers

Step 1: Breathe

Looking after an aging parent is hard. Really hard. We know, because we're doing it ourselves. That's why we created Kinto: a place where we can all share what we know and what we have learned, and to make sure that none of us ever feel alone on this journey. So take a deep breath. It's going to be OK. We've got your back.

Step 2: Share the Responsibility

This is a team effort. Meals, showers, toilets, medications, laundry, house cleaning, appointments... the list can feel endless. It's too much to take on by yourself, and there will always be times when you simply need help. We help to organize family members and friends, and connect you with a community of other folks dealing with all the same problems.

Step 3: Know What's Ahead

One of the most stressful things about caregiving is being caught by unpleasant surprises. Things like unexpected medical bills, a bad reaction to a new drug, or the discovery of credit card fraud can become overwhelming when you already have too much on your plate. Kinto will guide you along the way, making sure you know what's coming and helping you to feel prepared.

Step 4: Thanks

Nobody will ever say it enough or even say it at all, but we're also here to say "Thanks". Only other family caregivers will ever understand what you're going through and how you're feeling. But on top of all the hard stuff, taking care of your parents can be one of the most meaningful and rewarding things we ever do. So thank you from all of us.
